This is a medical health-concerned blog, we will be explaining different types of illnesses and diseases and how we can treat them by taking medical drugs.
Thank You
It is a solid material characterized by its very small, almost consistent size, which is mixed with each other well from a group of different substances, for example, excipients and active ingredients, and made homogeneous so that the doses and quantities are consistent in all medicinal properties.
Powders are used :
In the manufacture of capsules and tablets, creams and, inhalation, parenteral, topically...
What are granules?
These powders are ground and mixed well, homogeneous in particle shape and size. They are placed in specialized containers, either manually or mechanically. Under certain conditions of humidity, these powders are rolled over a specific time and certain characteristics. The size of the granules according to the site of their use .
Granules are used :
In the pharmaceutical industry in pills, capsules, suspensions of all kinds, and in subcutaneous and parenteral injections.
Particles size analysis:
Particle attacks are categorized by several methods, the most common of which is sieving; It is a group of sieves that are arranged vertically based on the mesh number, where the lowest mesh number is at the top and the highest is at the bottom of it, and it is calculated in microns (mesh number: the number of openings in 1 inch) and so the sieves are arranged gradually depending on the mesh number .
Examples of the arrangement of sieves:
the sieve is located at the top with less mesh number and contains fewer openings, supposing that it is 250 micrometers to 850 micrometers, and this means that it will pass through it and everything that is larger than it will remain stuck on this sieve, everything that is particle size is less than 850 This is used for medium sized granules or powders .
Of course, the size of the granules or powders, small or large, will affect the method of administration. Large granules will not be given intravenously, as they will have rapid sedimentation in the vein without distribution...
It does not mean that the large size of the granules will always lead to sedimentation. There are other methods that give better results than powders, but in different ways of giving and in the right places, not experiments and possibilities.
