Vaginal suppositories
Definition:
They are suppositories with a variety of medical purposes, such as antiseptics, used by women in the vaginal cavity they differ in shapes and weights, but most vaginal suppositories weigh 5 grams.

How to use vaginal suppositories:
The vaginal suppository is inserted into the upper vaginal tract with the help of a special applicator (called plunger).
Why vaginal suppositories are not suitable for systemic use?
Vaginal suppositories are only suitable for topical use, and suppositories cannot be used for systemic purposes because the physiology of the vagina causes a change in Ph and the vaginal membrane changes all the time due to the influence of hormones, which leads to the expulsion of the systemic medicine outside the vaginal membrane after the introduction of the drug dose into the vagina.
Urethral suppositories:
Definition:
Urinary suppositories are also called bougies and are used by both males and females. Now urethral suppositories are used as antiseptics and local anesthetics, but very rarely.
Form of urethral suppositories:
Urethral suppositories are pencil-shaped slender suppositories intended for insertion into the male or female urethra.
Length and Weight of Urethral Suppositories:
1- Male urethral suppositories:
- Length: 140 mm
- Weight: 4 gram
2- Female urethral suppositorie:
- Length: 70 mm
- Weight: 2 gram
The diameter of the urethral suppository in both male and female urethral suppositories is about 3-6 mm.
