  •  Plasmin is an enzyme that dissolves fibrinogen, which is the threads responsible for forming bonds between platelets, causing a clot.
  • If a clot forms, this drug will not give its effect. It is only used in primitive cases to dissolve threads and prevent the formation of clots, not treat them.

Pharmacological action :

  • This drug should be used in the early stage of clot formation, because after clot formation, resistance to the drug occurs, platelets ossify, and plasminogen will not be supplied.

Uses : 

  • It is used for all major and peripheral blood vessels and for the prevention of myocardial infarction and stroke. and melt the clots .

Side effects: 

  • the most common is severe hemorrhage. after that internal bleeding .

Drug -Drug interactions: 

  • Patients with high blood pressure should be careful of the occurrence of the synergistic effect, especially those who depend on ACEi, because the side effect of this drug is angioedema, so it should be avoided.

Precautions:

  •  When an accident occurs to a person taking this drug, his wounds will not heal until the blood vessels are closed. 
  •  It is not recommended for pregnant women because it may cause hemorrhage.
