Mechanism of action:

 It has an indirect effect on the conversion of phospholipids into arachidionic acid, as it inhibits the process, thus reducing the formation of inflammation in the bronchi, and also affects other immune cells, as it works to reduce them, causing bronchodilation in the airway smooth muscle.


Uses : 

This drug is used in the long term for people who suffer from chronic asthma.  

Works to reduce the immune cells causing inflammatory symptoms. 

 Allergy rhinitis treatment .

Side effects: 

It usually affects the brain in: increases appetite, mood disturbances (extreme joy or extreme sadness) .

On the heart: increased risk of heart failure on wound healing, progressively increased pressure .

On the inner intestine and liver:

 intestinal disorders in addition to diarrhea .

Increased blood sugar .

 hyperkalemia .

 retinopathy .

increased retention leading to edema .

On the bones: 

the growth rate in children decreases, in addition to osteoporosis .

Drug -Drug interactions : 

Any drug that affects the metabolism must be discontinued to avoid toxicity or lentigines . Dose adjustment .
