ADP blockers ( clopidogrel , prasugrel , ticagrelor , ticlopidine ( treatment of atherosclerosis
Mechanism of Action:
- When a wound occurs as a result of increased fat or as a result of increased blood sugar or blood pressure, fibrinogen comes by linking the platelets together, forming a chain and gradually multiplying until it blocks the blood vessel and causes a clot.
- The role of clopidogrel comes when it binds to its receptors (P2T12), works to inhibit fibrinogen, so it does not clump and leads to an increase in blood fluidity .
Pharmacological action :
Ticagrelor has the advantage of having less duration of action as it binds specifically reversibly, unlike the others .
Uses in general :
They provide blood fluidity and prevent clots in any of the arteries or veins.
ticlopidine uses :
- particular in the treatment when the heart muscle dies .
- to that it is used in the event that the patient does not benefit from aspirin and clots form .
- storke .
Side effects:
- an imbalance in liver enzymes.
- Digestive problems.
- Steven's Johnson syndrome.
- Deficiency of blood components causing anemia.
- bleeding.
- Dizziness.
clopidogrel, prasugrel, ticagrelor uses:
- used in pre-infarction angina intermediate syndrome.
- Treats non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
- percotenous coronary intervention PCI, which are stents with plates attached to each other, forming chains and clots.
side effects:
- clopidogrel: bleeding. Steven Johnson syndrome. Decrease in the number of plates.
- prasugrel: edema. Hypertension. bleeding.
- ticlopidine: bleeding. dyspnea. Elevation in serum creatinine (kidney function).
Precaution :
These medicines should be stopped at least two days before any surgery .
